Impact testing
Smart Fluid Laboratory provides impact testing services using a drop test rig.
Our test rig enables the precise simulation of dynamic loads acting on materials, components, and finished products. The device’s design allows for adjustment of the drop height—and thus the impact energy—the use of various impactor tips, and the installation of different test bases tailored to the type of sample (including a fluid cup and a solid base).
Scope of testing capabilities
The drop test rig enables a wide range of tests, including, for example:
-
Materials testing
-
Testing of technical components
-
Consumer product testing
-
Testing of fluids and soft materials
Using special test setups, it is possible to study:
the behavior of fluids under mechanical impact,
splashing, deformation, and structural changes,
and the resistance of gels, pastes, creams, and other soft materials to dynamic loads.
Specialized testing:
- testing of shock-absorbing and energy-dissipating components,
- testing of electronic components and sensors for impact resistance,
- testing of prototypes in the R&D phase.
The tests are conducted over an impact energy range of 5 to 275 J.
